Abstract The article shows that the term “Power Quality” (PQ) seems to be only engineering jargon, therefore, it is suggested that the terms “Supply Quality” (SQ) and “Loading Quality" (LQ) are used in studies on Power Quality in electrical systems. Studies on PQ are associated with studies on Power Theory (PT) and compensation in systems with nonsinusoidal voltages and currents. Unfortunately, there is more than century-long confusion on powers in electrical systems and several mutually conflicted schools of PT have occurred. The only yet not challenged concept of PT is that based on the Currents’ Physical Components (CPC), developed by the author of this article. Therefore, it seems that just CPC-based PT should be used as a fundamental for studies on PQ. The paper presents a short draft of the CPC concept with an emphasis on the physical interpretation of energy flow-related phenomena. Some observa-tions related to renewable enrgies, and global warming, are included as well.
