Abstract
FACTS systems provide a well proven solution
for actual different power system problems. FACTS devices can be effectively
used for reactive power support, enhance controllability, improve stability
and increase power transfer capability of AC transmission systems. This
paper analyses the
utilisation of FACTS systems in the expansion project of a mine, as an
environmental solution for optimizing existing exploitations instead of
opening new mines.
