Abstract

The paper examines the impact of the new network tariff system on end users utilizing green transition technologies in Slovenia. Using 15-minute electricity consumption measurements, the current situation was analyzed. Solar radiation data was used to estimate the expected electricity production from a photovoltaic system. Additionally, the influence of battery storage on grid electricity consumption was considered. The final results present the consumer’s monthly electricity costs under three different scenarios: the current situation, with a photovoltaic system, and with a photovoltaic system and battery storage. Electricity costs were calculated based on the updated methodology of the new network tariff system. The paper also evaluates the investment payback period for implementing green transition technologies.Considering the new network tariff system, t findings provide valuable insight into how individual consumers can optimize their electricity consumption and reduce dependence on the grid.

Key words: network tariff system, electricity consumption, electricity production, electricity costs, payback period
