Abstract The increasing penetration of distributed energy resources poses several challenges in compliance with low-voltage distribution network operating limits. Operating Envelopes describe time-varying export/import limits for distributed energy resources determined to not violate network limits. This paper presents a methodology for estimating dynamic operating envelopes using data from smart meters. Nodal power-voltage sensitivities are estimated using a regression approach to capture the local response under varying operating conditions, and are applied to obtain dynamic nodal operating envelopes without requiring complete network models. The proposed method has been applied to an unbalanced three-phase feeder of 55 loads, demonstrating that nodal voltages are predominantly kept within the maximum allowable limit. Key words: Operating Envelope, Power Sensitivity coefficients, Smart meters, Overvoltage Limits. Data-driven.
